Singing Jerusalem - A Tale of Iron and Gold

In this intimate live performance, Israel

Story — accompanied by The Djamchid

Sisters (one of the city’s most popular

musical duos) — will delve into the

backstory of two anthems that have

shaped our perception of Jerusalem for

the last half-century-plus: Jerusalem of

Gold and Jerusalem of Iron. The result is

an emotional journey between hope and

despair, pragmatism and dreams, ideals

and reality — all of which have accrued an

entire new and deeper layer of meaning

since the start of the war.

For close to 15 years, Israel Story

has been regaling millions of

listeners around the world with

extraordinary tales of ordinary

Israelis, quirky tales and nuanced

narratives that celebrate our

shared humanity and our endless

diversity. Since October 7th, focus

has shifted to Wartime Diaries, an

award-winning series, which has

been lauded as “the most powerful

window into life in Israel.”
