In this course we will study the Book of Deuteronomy (Sefer Devarim) as an independent work and see how it differs from other Biblical worldviews. Through a critical analysis, we will uncover the moral, political, and religious philosophy of this innovative text and explore what this ancient text has to offer for us in the modern world today.

Sara Susswein Tesler teaches Tanach and Jewish Thought to adults and post-high school students in Israel. She holds a MA in Bible from the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies at Yeshivah University and studied Jewish Law at many yeshivot in Israel and the US. When not teaching, Sara can be found immersed in architectural design or spending time in nature.
