Rabbi Kagedan will present topics such as end-of-life decision-making, advanced directives, pastoral care, palliative care, care-giving, and informed consent. An expert on the intersection of gender, ethics, and halacha her enthusiastic teaching style captivates her audiences. She will share her thoughts on landmark bio-ethical legal decisions and will share her own written response on Jewish medical ethics.
Lila Kagedan was ordained in 2015 by Yeshivat Maharat where she became the first Orthodox woman to claim the title rabbi and previously served as the rabbi of the Walnut Street Synagogue in Chelsea, MA. Rabbi Kagedan is a clinical ethicist, licensed mediator and educator working in academic, pastoral and clinical settings.
