CHAKI - The Creative Impulse

One of Canada’s most successful and celebrated artists, Yehouda Chaki, shows us the true power of the creative spirit as he battles through Parkinson’s to achieve unprecedented artistic and career success -- culminating with a historic one-man show at the Musée Des Beaux Arts.

Shot over the last 2 years, the film follows Chaki’s path from Greece's holocaust-ravaged Jewish Community, to his childhood and adolescence in Israel, his Fine Arts schooling in Paris, to his adopted home and studio in Montreal, and his expansive artistic career that spanned the globe.  

Chaki has been a member of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim since 1963.
